Spread The Word

What’s up guys.

I assume that most of the people reading this blog are either a) in medical school now, or b) are undergraduates planning on going to medical school in the future. I’ve probably got a few readers who are residents or physicians.

Anyway, I want you guys to do me a favor. It’s really simple. I want you to spread the word.

Yes, I’m asking you to link drop. I’m not ashamed. I get a respectable amount of traffic, but I’m hungry for more.

Some ideas are to drop a link in your forum sig, write in your blog about medschoolhell, post something about medschoolhell at MySpace (even though I hate MySpace, but whatever), use Digg, etc.

You guys know how to generate buzz.

So let’s get this ball rolling and start dropping some links.

Be like Paris Hilton.

An Easy Fix

I’ve been noticing a bit of traffic coming through to this blog from people searching “medschoolhell” in Google, Yahoo!, MSN and even Blogger. Instead of searching for the blog this way (or typing medschoolhell.blogspot.com), I’ve got a quick, easy fix for ya.

Just to your right is a big orange square with a nice reflection. That’s a direct link to my RSS feed, which is syndicated through FeedBurner. You can add this to your Google personalized homepage and have it updated automatically.

If you don’t already have a Google homepage, when you go directly to Google.com, you’ll see a link that says “Make It Your Own.” Click on this and sign in or create your account. If you already have a G homepage, skip to the next step.

Once you get in, you’ll see some default content. At the top-left corner of the page is an “add more to this page” link. Click on this, and up at the top of the page, click on “Add by URL.”

My feed address is http://feeds.feedburner.com/MedSchoolHell. Simply copy this into the URL box and it will be added to your Google homepage. Whenever I update the blog, you’ll see the new post available.

Med School Hater

I’ve created an image to show all forums across internetdom how I really feel. It’s too bad SDN won’t let you use images in signatures. Oh well.

Feel free to use it in your sigs if you’d like. I would appreciate a link back to this blog though.

=D

A MySpace Quote

I know this is off topic:

Just for the record, I hate MySpace. I was doing some Googling tonight and came across this crap. I wonder what the IQ of these people are? Here’s the quote:

“lol lol ok cuz when i said if u a shorty come drop dat luv on my page i wasnt talking about u but i c how u do keep dat shit written down with dat pin on a page cuz u a lil nicca dat cant reach da mic on a stage and rip it just like ur gurlzz jeans now u know y she listens to ginuwine cuz i know what shes got in those jeans but its alright & cuz i didnt know u were chineese cuz dat pussy s still tight but fuck a dime and a bitch the only thing i care about is getting rich yup dats me cali’s finest if u didnt know ask ur bitch”

I’m sure they’ll be “getting rich” soon.

e-thuggin’ since 2006.

Premeds, STFU

I was browsing over at SDN and saw a post in the “pre-allo” forum where you guys were responding to the issue of medical student harassment based on the latest study. Let me say that I was reminded as to why I only visit the pre-allo forum once a year now.

I used to be just like you guys – all pumped up and empathetic about “helping people” while I was in college. I thought I knew it all with my 4.0 GPA and badass MCAT score. Just like you think you know it all now. Let me tell you that you don’t know shit. That’s right, you’re fucking clueless. You’re clueless just like I was. If you ever get accepted into medical school you’ll think back to this blog post one day and be like “you know what, that guy was right.”

All of you 20-somethings responding to the post are doing so without any experience whatsoever in dealing with residents, nurses, ancillary staff and attending physicians. All you have to base your comments on is what you read in that study. Your comments are meaningless dribble, much like your foreign “medical experience” in Peru that’s in your MDApplicants profile.

Until you spend 2 years on the wards working 14 hours per day and then come in to round on Saturday and Sunday morning, quit acting like you know what’s going on and shut the fuck up.
