For me, I hate the jerkoff attendings most. This is followed by smartass residents, and then finally gunner med students.

I rank them this way based on grade influence. The gunner students, while annoying, had little direct influence on my grades.

"They’re all mandatory because (a fact they constantly drill into our skulls, only meant to be used as psychological ammo against us) we’re professionals."

Classic. Don't you love it when they use your own virtues against you (a la Atlas Shrugged)?

Your post reminds me...

During opening ceremonies at my med school, the first year class was told (for almost an hour) that each and every one of was *not* special - we were let in here because of socioeconomic forces outside of our control, and that the people who didn't get in were also victims of socioeconomic forces outside of their control. We were told that we owed a major debt (I'm not sure if they said to whom) and that we had to repay it by converting to Communism and giving compassionate, free health care to ingrates - all under the banner of UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.

To this day I regret that I didn't call that turd out in front of class. I got accepted to medical school because of (1) natural ability, (2) hard work, and (3) sacrificing more enjoyable areas of my life (like Beer Pong on weeknights!). As did the rest of the class (with few exceptions).

No doubt the thugs of guilt would get to most of the first years eventually, but I still believe in putting up a fight!

God I LOVE ceremonies :-)
