Last week, coming home from the subway, some poor fool decided to OD and seize out. I literally had to pick up and move out of the way some smarmy gawp in a white coat, from one of those shady as-seen-on-commercials-between Judge Judy-segments "colleges". I ended up having to lie the girl on her side, so she wouldn't drown in puke, then hold her down as she seized again. He knew nothing about basic CPR or First Aid. It's analogous to wearing your college's football sweatshirt on game day. You're proud and there's nothing wrong with that. There is a fine line between pride and vanity, but the examples above certainly sway towards the vanity line. Drinking from a coffee mug or wearing stuff with your school on it is not vanity imo.
