Residency Writer Wanted

My original request on the SDN forums was nuked by the internet cowboy, so I’m getting a little more creative with this post and signatures. *cough*

Med School Hell needs a writer that’s in residency. Since all of you know that I never went that path, I am very limited in what I can write. I need someone with war stories from the wards, someone that can actually tell the MSH community what it’s really like on the front lines. Herein lies my request for a writer who is in residency.

I’m looking for a volunteer writer in residency who wants to write as much or as little as they wish. Once a month, twice per year, or once a day is fine by me. If you currently write for your own blog, that’s great. You’re are welcomed to drop a link back to your blog in your posts, and I’ll give you some love in the blogroll as well. You can call Med School Hell your home or simply be a guest columnist that contributes posts whenever you feel like it.

What I’m Looking For

Stories about your everyday life in residency is ideal. Not happy about the number of hours you’re working as a resident? Does some shady stuff go on within your program? Did you see a particular unpleasant patient today? Anything, and I mean anything that you want to write about having to do with being a physician in residency training is fair game.

A Lil’ About MSH

Back when I first started MedSchool Hell, it was a place for me to vent as a medical student. I really never expected anybody to read it. The good news is that they do, and I want to offer them even more that what I can personally offer them now. If you’d just like to use MSH as a platform for your vents or rants, that works.

I want MSH to be the place for no-bullshit information about medicine, medical training, and the medical lifestyle. You can tell it like it is, use as much profanity as you want, and nothing will ever be censored. I’ve never censored or deleted a comment, unless it was blatant Viagra or Cialis spam, and I don’t plan to ever start.

Established Community

If you choose to contribute to the MSH community, you have readers here that are already established. I’m looking to branch out my reach and offer more to them. That’s where you come in as a resident writer. I need your help, and your writing will not go unread.

Well, that’s about it. I’m determined to find the perfect writer in residency to round out the offerings at Med School Hell. If you’re interested in becoming a regular or guest contributor to Med School Hell, drop me an email and we’ll get the ball rolling.
