I was quite interested to find this webpage. I just gave up a place to study medicine at one of the top schools in the UK. Yet, unlike Immy I actually felt quite...happy...but it was a surreal moment. I had to celebrate with champagne after such a momentous decision. however a day after, I know that It's going to take, what, a decade for me to know if that was really the 'right' choice. but then with all these things theres never really a 'wrong' choice, right? just two different paths and all that...
Medicine is seriously in turmoil in the UK atm, so i thought - 3 years doing a different degree, keeping possibly graduate medicine in mind (that's actually a rarer choice in the UK to any Americans who r confused by that!) should give longer for me to really figure out what it is i want to do. and people change a lot between 18 and 21 right? i'd say thats almost the biggest period of change in people's adult lives...or at least thats what i'v heard...
i don't know...i guess i'm just looking for some reassurance that i havn't just thrown away a golden opportunity that oculd have opened so many doors...

Did you guys always know medicine was for you? or was it more something you 'fell' into, albeit after a lot fo hard work!!
Would you recommend a medical career to your children?
thanks for any replies - not sure how active this thread is nemore!!!

I'm pre-med and am having second thoughts.

I found this blog by googling "pre-med mistake" lol.

I've distanced myself from my pre-med gunner peers and the courses.

Now, I'm considering all of my options.

I feel like I was brainwashed by my doctor mom. I feel like Immy and I haven't even gotten in.

Any advice, anyone?
